Hand-thrown from a blend of 98% porcelain and 2% stoneware, this medium-sized jar is ideal for serving salt, sugar, or spices, as well as small nuts or sweets. The delicate porcelain spoon is a matching accessory, but can easily be replaced with any spoon of your choice. The carved opening in the porcelain accommodates all types of spoons.
This mixture of porcelain and stoneware was fired in an electric kiln at 1,275 degrees Celsius. This gives it its beige color, which is slightly darker than classic porcelain due to the addition of red stoneware. The black specks are tiny iron pyrites completely embedded in the porcelain.

Porcelain is a natural product and is processed by Cornelia Hofstetter according to pure craftsmanship principles. Slight variations in shape and size, as well as features that emphasise its naturalness and traces of the manufacturing process, are desirable characteristics.
