This fruit bowl is a unique piece made from high-quality French Limoges porcelain. Limoges porcelain is characterised by its brilliant white colour and translucency (partial light transmission). I threw it freehand on the potter’s wheel and, following a complex drying process, fired it at 1,280 degrees in a gas kiln in a reduced atmosphere for over 9 hours.
Apart from the mirror-like finish in the centre, it is completely unglazed. It is robust and completely watertight, and at 1.2 kg, it is comparatively very light and easy to handle.
