This fruit bowl is a unique piece made from high-quality French Limoges porcelain. Limoges porcelain is characterised by its brilliant white colour and translucency (partial light transmission). I threw it freehand on the potter’s wheel and, following a complex drying process, fired it at 1,280 degrees in a gas kiln in a reduced atmosphere for over 9 hours.
Apart from the mirror-like spot in the centre, it is completely unglazed; a small black dot indicates that it is handmade and was fired in a gas kiln. Its sturdy, outward-curving base makes it slightly heavier than usual.
